Applying for NSSF number has been challenging due to the procedures. However, there are two methods you can use to apply for the number that is through online or SMS. With the tips on how to apply for NSSF number, you can be able to retrieve an NSSF number.

  1. Online application procedure

The online process of NSSF user registration is the most convenient and used by the majority. You can learn how to register for NSSF number online using the steps below.

  • Visit the NSSF self-service member registration page by following this link
  • Fill in the form accurately and don’t omit any of the fields marked with an asterisk (*)

Some of the most common problems people have when filling the form are in choosing the right username, password, and visual verification code.

  • Username can be a mixture of alphabet letters and numerals
  • Your password should be 8-15 characters long and must be a combination of uppercase, lowercase alphabet, and some numerals
  • You should repeat the above-selected password in the ‘verify password’ field
  • The Visual verification code just before the save button at the bottom of the form is used to confirm that you are human. Enter the letters you can discern in the image on the field below. If you can’t see the letters and numbers right, click the refresh button

Once you have filled the form accurately, click the save button. If you made any errors, the affected fields will be highlighted in red an error message displayed just below the save button.

After this, the next step is to print the registration information that will appear on-screen and bring them to an NSSF Branch Office.

There an additional check of your application data will be performed and you shall be provided with an NSSF Encoded Pin Key.

2. Applying via phone

NSSF doesn’t have a USSD registration service for its members as of now. You can, however, use your phone to contact the NSSF service or get directives on visiting nearby offices.
