StarTimes is a pay-TV service in which users have to pay subscription fees daily, monthly or annually. They have four different packages that vary in price. These are Unique, Classic, Basic and Nyota.
There are a number of ways in which users can pay their StarTimes bills, including via M-Pesa Airtel money, Equity ATM or online banking.
Follow these steps to pay your StarTimes bill.
1. M-Pesa
To use M-Pesa to pay your StarTimes bill:
- Open your M-Pesa menu
- Select Lipa na M-Pesa
- Select Pay Bill
- Tap on Enter business no. then key in 585858; StarTimes paybill number.
- Enter your StarTimes smartcard number as the account number
- Enter the Amount you wish to pay
- Enter your M-Pesa PIN
- A pop-up message with the details you entered will appear. Confirm that the details are correct and click OK if so, if not, click on Cancel and start again.
- You will receive a message to confirm the completion of your transaction
- After a successful transaction, wait for your StarTimes account to be updated, this usually happens within an hour.

2. Airtel money
To pay your StarTimes bill using Airtel money:
- Open the Airtel money menu
- Select Make Payments
- Click on Pay bill
- Choose OTHER
- Select STARTIMES
- Enter the amount you wish to pay
- Click on send
- Input your PIN
- Key in your Reference, which is your StarTimes smartcard number
- You will receive a confirmation message upon a successful transaction
3. Equity ATM
- Insert your card in the ATM
- Input your PIN
- select Bill payments
- Choose StarTimes
- Key in your StarTimes smartcard number
- Choose correct
- Enter the amount you wish to pay

4. Online Banking
- Log in to your bank account via the app
- Find the pay bill option and click on it
- Follow the prompts to complete the transaction.
All the above payment options, except for the use of ATM, can be done anywhere at any time. Use that which suits you.
