How to fill an Industrial Training logbook

A typical logbook contains different pages that require specific information. Take a closer look at all of them;

Student particulars page

The first page of a logbook is the one that contains the necessary information about you and your training. You will need to provide;

  1. A recently snapped passport;
  2. Your full name;
  3. Your registry number;
  4. The course of study;
  5. Your year of course study;
  6. Permanent hometown or residential address;
  7. Your gender;
  8. Correct names and addresses of your parents or guardian;
  9. The name of the company you undergo the training.
  10. The name of industry-based supervisor/coordinator;

The organization profile page

Under this, you will have two pages, where you will write the information about the company where you’ll undergo the training. The first page you will fill in the following;

  1. Name of the company;
  2. Location and address of the company;
  3. The size of the company and any other information required in the logbook;

On the second page, you will have a diagram of a chart of the structure of the company.

Other pages include:

  • Attendance registry page: This page will contain your attendance records and filled by your supervisor or coordinator.
  • Activity record page: This page will require you to write down the vital activity of the day. You can fill at the end of the week or daily, depending on which is best for you.
  • Monthly work summary description page: On this page, you will need to draw sketches or diagrams, tables, etc. of the work done at the end of the month.
  • School-based supervisor monthly visit page: Your school supervisor fills this page during their visit to your training base.
  • Monthly evaluation page: Your industry-based supervisor will fill this page, rating your performance at different levels.
  • Student payment record page: Some trainees get paid during their training. If you are one of them, the payment records are filled on this page by your industry-based coordinator.
  • Student suggestion page: As you complete the training, you need to make suggestions to improve industrial management and supervision.
